April 2019 General Meeting Recap

Annual Real Estate Update
Neighbors gathered for a lively discussion over wine and cheese, to talk about the current real estate market and its impact on Lyon Village. A primary focus of the meeting was “Knowing Your Value.”

We are currently in a strong sellers’ market, with historically low inventory, so it’s in the best interest of all sellers/owners to understand the value of what they own. Selling silently can be the path some choose, but homeowner should ensure they are getting market value for their home if they do so.

The tax assessment isn’t the market value! The market value is what a buyer will pay. Of paramount importance is talking to someone to ensure you know your value! There are many professional agents in the neighborhood who can assist those considering a sale or who are approached by someone with an unsolicited offer to sell. Friends and neighbors can be engaged in a discussion about the possible paths available. As Billy noted in the meeting, it’s even worth sticking a ‘for sale by owner’ in your yard to ensure you are getting the maximum exposure (and maximum amount) for your property.
