Columbia Pike Improvements to Cost More

Columbia Pike Improvements to Cost 1/3 More, Take Longer
An incomplete site survey has resulted in a $5.5 million surprise. Additional funds will come from curtailing other projects on Columbia Pike and part the South Garfield St to South Quinn St project.

Until the end of 2020 there will be only one lane open in each direction between South Jefferson St and the Four Mile Run bridge, except an additional eastbound lane during weekday morning rush hours (7 am to 9:30 am). There are also new no-left-turn restrictions. Avoid the area if possible.

Alternate routes around the work zone
● Westbound: Follow George Mason Drive north to Route 50/Arlington Boulevard or south to Route 7/Leesburg Pike
● Eastbound: Follow Carlin Springs Road north to Route 50/Arlington Boulevard or south to Route 7/Leesburg Pike
