Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam announced a ban on any gatherings with more than 100 people statewide, asking for no more than 50 in the hard hit Peninsula region. “If you were planning to go to a church, restaurant or bar I wouldn’t do it right now,” Gov. Northam said.
CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States.
