County Board Adopts Vision Zero Action Plan
County Board has voted to adopt a 5-year Vision Zero Action Plan whose goal is to eliminate traffic fatalities and severe injuries. Unfortunately, they are spreading the limited funds ($16M) so broadly that little may be available to actually address traffic fatalities and severe injuries. News Release
Arlington Can Lower Vehicle Speeds
The Va General Assembly just voted to permit localities to drop speed limits in residential areas to 15 MPH. In DC it is 20MPH unless otherwise posted. Children and other pedestrians are much less likely to die when struck by a slower vehicle. Greater Greater Washington
