LVCA General Meeting, May 9, 8pm

Come join us for presentations by the Arlington YMCA and Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE). Also on the agenda is the election of new LVCA Executive Committee members for the 2016 – 2017 year. The North Highlands Citizens Association will be joining us that evening for the presentations. The YMCA will share how the Y strengthens community though 3 areas of focus – Youth Development: nurturing the potential of every child and teen. Healthy Living: improving community health and well-being. Social Responsibility: giving back and providing support to our neighbors.

ACE describes its presentation as follows: "Ready to take an extra step to help the environment? You're not alone! In partnership with Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment (ACE), neighbors in Lyon Village are organizing a green team to promote sustainability in our community, with a focus on shrinking our carbon footprint. Lyon Village resident Peter VanderPoel and ACE volunteer Stephanie Burns will talk about this new initiative and how you can get involved."

The meeting takes place at 8pm at the Lyon Village Community House.

LVCA General Meeting, Apr 11, 8pm

We'll also hear a report from the Lee Highway Alliance on the results from the community meeting (charette) held last November to gather input from residents and business owners about our vision for the future of Lee Highway from Rosslyn to the Fairfax County line. Redevelopment pressures for the corridor are growing and this is the effort of 18 civic associations to get ahead of the curve. More info can be found at GreaterGreaterWashington.org.
