12 Days of Active Winter Break
12 Days of Active Winter Break
County staff and residents will be offering 12 different, kid-friendly activities for 12 Days of Active Winter Break to keep students and their families active and entertained. Activities will be free, physically distant, accessible, and walk/bike friendly.
The 12 Days will start with a kick-off event held on Zoom on Thur, Dec 17, from 6:30-7:30 PM. Register in Advance
Daily activities will be posted on social media.

Girl Scout Troops are now forming near Lyon Village! Troops at Key, Arlington Science Focus, and other nearby schools are open for registration. Troops are meeting both virtually and in-person, outside! Girls and interested parent volunteers contact Maxine Laberge at mlaberge@gscnc.org or 202-534-3763.

No rides, no yummy/unhealthy food, but lots of fun events. To share the magic of the Fair even during unsure times the Fair will be hosting a variety of live events via Facebook Live. Unlike many events on the Internet, these events are live—don’t be late!

Egg Hunt Social Distancing Version
Egg Hunt Social Distancing Version
1) Decorate some paper eggs on an 8.5×11 paper sheet. You can download a template to print and color at Simple Mom Project
2) Post your eggs in a front window where they can easily be seen from the street. Please display them from Sat, Mar 28 to Tues, Apr 14.
3) Go for a walk around the neighborhood with your kids to see how many eggs you can find! Please walk only with members of your household, not in large groups.

2019 has seen a troublesome rise in pedestrian fatalities in Arlington. Last month a 55-year-old woman became the fourth pedestrian fatality. The number of traffic-related pedestrian fatalities in 2019 now equals the combined total of in the preceding four years.

Irregular Sprayground hours were instituted as part of FY2011 budget cuts and continue to this day.
LV Easter Egg Hunt – a Big Success!
On April 6 at 10:00 am, Lyon Village Park was filled to the brim with over 100 neighborhood children, Easter baskets in hand, eagerly awaiting the egg hunt, egg relay races and a visit from the Easter bunny.
